Banana Panna Cotta (Italian Dessert)
Ingredients:
- Ripe bananas: 3 (mashed)
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Milk: 1 cup
- Gelatin: 1 tablespoon (or 1 packet, about 10g)
- Honey or sugar (optional): 1–2 tablespoons, depending on your sweetness preference
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Gelatin:
- In a small bowl, mix gelatin with 3–4 tablespoons of warm water.
- Stir well and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. Cook the Banana Mixture:
- In a saucepan, melt the butter on low heat.
- Add the mashed bananas and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly caramelized.
- Add the milk and optional sweetener (if desired) and mix well. Heat gently without boiling.
3. Add Gelatin:
- Remove the banana mixture from heat.
- Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm banana mixture until fully dissolved.
4. Assemble and Chill:
- Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or ramekins.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
5. Serve:
- Serve the banana panna cotta chilled. Optionally, top with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or chopped nuts for garnish.
